Games are structured in accordance with the Long Term Athlete Development Program of Canadian Lacrosse Association
as indicated in the CLA Rule Book. Option L
Games are played with smaller nets and on half the playing surface.
All GELC u6 and teams should have a practice/game scheduled at their home arena on Wednesday evenings probably between 6 to 7 pm.
All teams will participate in two games against other teams, based on closest geography and these games will be played on two Saturdays or perhaps one Sunday, thru the season. The dates for these are May 2-3, May 23-24 and finally three games on June 20th and 21st at the Wrap Up Weekend.
The 2020 Wrap Up Weekend for the Season will on the Weekend of June 20th-21st at the Timbits Wrap up which will occur at the East Soccer Centre just north of Yellowhead Trail on Victoria Trail.
Timbits u8 Lacrosse will practice within their local club.
Timbits u8 Lacrosse will be played as per the Canadian Lacrosse Association Rule Book Option L
The u8 leagues play on Tuesday and or Thursday evenings. games can start at any time between a 6 pm and a 7 pm start. Ending between 7 pm and 8 pm. Where ever possible 6 pm is used as the start time for u8 games but if there are back to back u8 games at an arena one game will start at 7 pm.
There may be a game on a Saturday or Sunday.
Leagues are set up geographically to make travel easier for parents. Typically there are three divisions of teams.
The 2020 season will start Tuesday April 21 or Thursday April 23.There will be weekend games for Westlock and Grande Prairie.
On the weekend of June 20th and 21st the Timbits Wrap Up will occur at the East Soccer Centre just north of Yellowhead Trail on Victoria Trail.
All u8 teams are invited to participate in the Alberta Lacrosse Association David Fehr Tyke Festival in Calgary July 9th to 12th, 2020.
Both boys and girls u10 lacrosse will be played on Tuesday and or Thursday evening.
They may have games scheduled on the weekend, as we have teams from Camrose,Westlock and Grande Prairie in the league and they require weekend games,or to get the schedules completed we may require weekend games.
u10 typically start at any time between 6 pm and 7:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. End times would be between 7 and 8 pm.
On weekends any time from 9 am in the morning. (there may be a possibility of a 7:30 pm start but it would not be the norm)
League play starts is the Tuesday April 21st and ends by June 22th. Playoffs commence on June 23rd and will be completed by July 5th, there will be games on weekends.
Games are 1 hour long.
Please note in the u8 boys division teams are rescheduled part way thru the season approximately at the long weekend of May.They move into divisions based on team ability and no longer geographic. To start the season they are placed in divisions geographically.
Girls divisions all teams play against all teams in the league due to numbers of teams.
League play starts is the Tuesday April 21st and ends by June 22nd. Playoffs commence on June 23rd and will be completed by July 5th, there will be n games on weekends.
For 2020 the ALA provincial festival will be in Calgary July 9th thru the 12th
All teams may enter the ALA u-10 Festival.
Pee Wee Lacrosse
Pee Wee Lacrosse is played in tiers A,B,C
A will play on Monday , Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday are possible.
B division will play on Tuesday or Thursday, the possibility of a Friday, Saturday or Sunday game as well, Teams from Camrose,Grande Prairie and Westlock participate in the league
C Division will play on Monday,Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday possibly.
All u12 games may start any time between 6 pm and 8:15 pm, ending from 7:15 pm to 9:30 pm.
Games are 1.25 hour long
Girls Division play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams.Girls will play Monday, Wednesday, possibly Friday, Saturday or Sunday if required.
Playoffs will commence after June 20th and finish by July 5th, with weekend games in that time period. Playoffs will be a double knock out competition.
All teams in the division are welcome to enter to compete in provincials in Calgary July 9th thru the 12th.
u14 lacrosse is played in tiers A,B,C
A will play on Tuesday or Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday if required.
B division will play on Monday,Wednesday,Friday,Saturday,or Sunday if required.
C Division will play on Tuesday, or Thursday, Friday,Saturday or Sunday if required.
Teams will participate in the league from Grande Prairie and Westlock.
All u14 games will have start times between 6 pm and 8:30 pm. Games will end between 7:30 pm and 10 pm. Games are 1.5 hours long.

Alberta Lacrosse Announces 16U A League
A Provincial-Wide Interconnected League Established to Aid Development
Alberta Lacrosse is excited to announce a full 16U A League that will be implemented for the 2020 box season. The new league will focus on an interconnected schedule that will see each Alberta team play every other 16U A team twice during the regular season; once at home and once on the road. This new schedule will provide players and teams with a variety of competition, increase the importance on each game and free up the weekend for teams to travel to out of province tournaments. The league will endeavor to schedule games in conjunction with Junior A and B games to increase exposure of players to Junior level coaches and enhance mentorship of officials.
Teams will use the same boundaries that are in place for their LGBs. Players that do not have a u16 A team in their area must follow the current transfer policies in place to try out for an A team. Teams in the league are as follows:
Teams will play a 16-game schedule. Teams will play each team in the league twice in the regular season; once at home and once on the road. All teams at the end of regular season will proceed to the Provincial weekend. The top five teams will proceed to the Gold Championship and the bottom four to the Silver Championship.
|The GELC will be hosting 4 zone post midget teams should registrations permit, they will play on Monday evenings and practice one night during the week. No provincials and no tournaments. But they will play 12 games, and league playoffs commencing on June 25th with no weekend play and ending by July 11th.|

Junior Lacrosse falls under the jurisdiction of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Association, In Edmonton and surrounding communities there are two Junior A teams the Miners and Blues.Four Junior B Tier One teams, the Crude, Warriors,Rebels,and Titans. Several Junior B Tier Two teams, Warriors, Crude Wizards,Titans.
Junior Ladies have three teams, The Saints, Drillers and Titans

Senior Lacrosse falls under the jurisdiction of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League as well. In Edmonton and surrounding communities there are three Senior B clubs, The Warriors, St. Albert Miners, and Outlaws.
In Senior C action the area is represented by the Senior C Warriors.
Senior Ladies are represented by the Bandits and Sherwood Park Titans.
