6u

Lacrosse 

 formerly Timbits Mini Tykes

Games are structured in accordance with the Long Term Athlete Development Program of Canadian Lacrosse Association

as indicated in the CLA Rule Book. Option L

Games are played with smaller nets and on half the playing surface.

All GELC 6u teams should have a practice/game scheduled at their home arena on Wednesday evenings probably between  6 to 7 pm.

All teams will participate in two games against other teams, based on closest geography and these games will be played on two Saturdays or perhaps one Sunday, thru the season. The dates for these are May7,8 and June 4,5 and finally three games on June 18th 19th  at the Wrap Up Weekend. 

The 2022 Wrap Up Weekend for the Season will  on the Weekend of June 18-19th. Faclity to be determined

8u

Lacrosse

Timbits 8u Lacrosse will practice within their local club.

Timbits 8u Lacrosse will be played as per the Lacrosse Canada  Rule Book Option L

The u8 leagues play on Tuesday and or Thursday evenings. games can start at any time between a 6 pm and a 7 pm start. Ending between 7 pm and 8 pm. Where ever possible 6 pm is used as the start time for u8 games but if there are back to back u8 games at an arena one game will start at 7 pm.  

There may be a game on a Saturday or Sunday.

Leagues are set up geographically to make travel easier for parents. Typically there are three divisions of teams.

The 2022 season will start Tuesday April 19 or Thursday April 21.There will be weekend games for Westlock and Grande Prairie, and possibly Camrose

On the weekend of June 18th and 19st the Wrap Up will occur alocation to be determined.

 All 8u teams are invited to participate in the Alberta Lacrosse Association David Fehr Tyke Festival in Cold Lake  July 7th to 10th, 2022.

10u

Lacrosse

 

Both boys and girls 10u lacrosse will be played on Tuesday and or Thursday evening.

They may have games scheduled on the weekend, as we have teams from  Camrose,Westlock and Grande Prairie in the league and they require weekend games, or to get the schedules completed we may require weekend games. 

 10u  typically start at any time between 6 pm and 7:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. End times would be between 7 and 8 pm.

On weekends any time from 9 am in the morning. (there may be a possibility of a 7:30 pm start but it would not be the norm)

League play starts is the Tuesday April 19st  and ends by June 21th. Playoffs commence on June 22rd and will be completed by June 30th, there will be  games on weekends. 

Games are 1 hour long.

Please note in the 10u  division teams are rescheduled part way thru the season after mothers day and before the  long weekend of May. They move into divisions based on team ability and no longer geographic. To start the season they are placed in divisions geographically.

Girls divisions all teams play against all teams in the league due to numbers of teams.

League play starts is the Tuesday April 19th  and ends by June 21th. Playoffs commence on June 21rd and will be completed by June 30th, there will be  games on weekends. 

For 2022 the ALA  David Fehr provincial festival will be in Cold Lake  July 7th thru the 10th

12u

Lacrosse

 

12u Lacrosse is played in tiers A,B

A will play on Monday , Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday are possible.

 B division will play on Tuesday or Thursday, the possibility of a Friday, Saturday or Sunday game as well, Teams from Camrose, Grande Prairie and Westlock participate in the league

All 12u games may start any time between 6 pm and 8:15 pm, ending from 7:15 pm to 9:30 pm.

Games are 1.25 hour long.

Girls Division  play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams. Girls will play Monday, Wednesday, possibly Friday, Saturday or Sunday if required. 

Playoffs will commence  June 21st and finish by June 30th, with weekend games in that time period. Playoffs will be a double knock out competition.

All teams in the division are welcome to enter to compete in provincials in Cold Lake July 7th thru the 10th.

14u

Lacrosse

 

14u lacrosse is played in tiers A,B

A will play on Tuesday or Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday if required.

B division will play on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday if required.

Teams will participate in the league from Grande Prairie and Westlock.

All 14u games will have start times between 6 pm and 8:30 pm. Games will end between 7:30 pm and 10 pm. Games are 1.5 hours long.

Please note for 2022 playing date movement may occur due to playing surface availability. 

Girls Division play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams. 14u girls will play Tuesday or Thursday, possibly Friday , Saturday or Sunday if required.

Playoffs will commence June 21rd and finish by the 30th of June.  They will be a double knock out competition. games will be played on the weekend. 

All teams may enter provincials in Cold Lake  July 7th thru 10th 2022.

16u

Midget lacrosse

A,B

Midget Lacrosse will play any night or on weekends.

A division teams will compete in a 16u provincial league with two weekends of play in Calgary thru the season.

In the B division teams from Westlock and Grande Prairie will be participating.

All 16u will have start times between 6 pm and 9:00 pm. End times will be between 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm. Games are 1.5 hours long.

Girls Division play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams.

Playoffs will commence  June 21st and finish by June 30th. They will be a double knock out competition.

 All teams are welcome to enter provincials on the 7th to the 10th of July in Cold Lake.

16u A League

Alberta Lacrosse Announces 16U A League

A Provincial-Wide Interconnected League Established to Aid Development

Alberta Lacrosse is excited to announce a full 16U A League that will be implemented for the 2020 box season. The new league will focus on an interconnected schedule that will see each Alberta team play every other 16U A team twice during the regular season; once at home and once on the road. This new schedule will provide players and teams with a variety of competition, increase the importance on each game and free up the weekend for teams to travel to out of province tournaments. The league will endeavor to schedule games in conjunction with Junior A and B games to increase exposure of players to Junior level coaches and enhance mentorship of officials.

u18 Lacrosse 

 
Junior Lacrosse

Junior Lacrosse falls under the jurisdiction of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Association, In Edmonton and surrounding communities there is one Junior A teams the Miners. Four Junior B Tier One teams, the Crude, Warriors, Rebels, and Outlaws. Several Junior B Tier Two teams, Warriors, Crude Posse, Titans. 

Junior Ladies have three teams, The Saints, Drillers and Titans

Senior Lacrosse

Senior Lacrosse falls under the jurisdiction of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League as well.  In Edmonton and surrounding communities there are three Senior B clubs, The REbels, St. Albert Miners, and  Outlaws.

In Senior C action the area is represented by the Senior C Warriors and Senior C Miners.

Senior Ladies are represented by the Bandits and Sherwood Park Titans. 

Masters Lacrosse

Master lacrosse for those over 35 is ran by the Edmonton Masters Lacrosse League.

Ladies Masters are available as well.
