Division Playing Nights and League Information

Timbits Mini Tykes

 Timbits Mini Tykes may play and practice within their local club..

Some clubs place their teams in the GELC Timbits Mini Tyke Leagues.

Depending on the number of teams registered will determine the number of leagues.

Leagues are set up geographically to make travel easier for parents.

Typically there would be a East, South and West League.

Games are structured in accordance with the Long Term Athlete Development Program of Canadian Lacrosse Association

Games consist of 15 minutes practice, a 15 minute game followed by a further 15 minute practice and ending with 15 minutes of games.

Games are played with smaller nets and on half the playing surface.

Timbits Mini Tykes play on Wednesday evenings, generally at 6 pm.

The 2016 Season will start Wednesday April 20.It will finish up on the Weekend of June 18th and 19th at the Timbits Mini Tyke Wrap up which will occur at the East Soccer Centre just north of Yellowhead Trail on Victoria Trail.

Timbits Tyke

Timbits Tyke Lacrosse will practice within their local club.

The Tyke leagues play on Tuesday and or Thursday evenings. The start time of tyke games is between 6 pm and 7 pm. 

There may be an odd game on a Saturday.

Leagues are set up geographically to make travel easier for parents. Typically there are three divisions of teams.

Games are structured in accordance with the Long Term Athlete Development Program of Canadian Lacrosse Association

Games will be 1/2 hour of practice and 1/2 of game play each night.

The 2016 season will start Tuesday April 19,or Thursday April 21

On the weekend of June 18th and 19th the Timbits Tyke Wrap Up will occur at the East Soccer Centre just north of YellowheadTrail on Victoria Trail.

 

Novice Lacrosse

Both boys and girls novice lacrosse will be played on Tuesday and or Thursday evening.

They may have games scheduled on the weekend, as we have teams from Westlock and Grande Prairie in the league and they require weekend games,or to get the schedules in complete we may require weekend games. 

Start times for novice typically start any where between 6 pm and 7:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. On weekends any time from 9 am in the morning. (there may be a possiblity of a 7:30 pm start but it would not be the norm)

League play starts is the Tuesday April 19  and ends by June 17th. Playoffs commence on June 20th and will be complete prior to June 28th for most teams, teams have the potential of playing thru to provincials, dates to be determined.

Games are 1 hour in lenght.

Please note in the novice boys division teams are rescheduled part way thru the season approximately at the long weekend of May.They move into divisions based on team ability and no longer geographic. To start the season they are placed in divisions geographically.

Girls divisions all teams play against all teams in the league due to numbers of teams.

Novice Playoffs start after the 21th of June and  they will be over by June 28th.  For 2016 provincials is July 8,9,10 location to be determined. The winning team advance in girls to provincials and the top team in the boys Black division will advance.

Pee Wee Lacrosse

Pee Wee Lacrosse is played in tiers A,B,C

A will play on Monday , Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday possibly

 B division will play on Tuesday or Thursday, the possiblility of a Friday, Saturday or Sunday game as well, Teams from Grande Prairie and Westlock participate in the league

C Division will play on Monday , Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday possibly.

All pee wee games will have start times between 6 pm and 8:15 pm. Games are 1.15 hour in lenght

Girls Divisions all play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams.Girls will play Monday, Wednesday, possibly Friday, Saturday or Sunday if required. 

Playoffs will commence after June 21th and finish for most teams by the 28th of June. Playoffs will be a double knock out competition.

Some teams advancing to provincial play may find that their league finals may occur during the week before the specific provincial they will be participating in. Provincials  locationwill be determined  July 8,9,10  

The top teams in A ,B,C and Girls will particpate. 

Bantam Lacrosse

 

Bantam lacrosse is played in tiers A,B,C

A will play on Tuesday or Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday if required.

B division will play on Monday,Wednesday,Friday,Saturday,or Sunday if required.

C Division will play on Tuesday, or Thursday, Friday,Saturday or Sunday if required.

Teams will participate in the league from Grande Prairie and Westlock.

All bantam games will have start times between 6 pm and 8:30 pm. Games are 1.50 hours in lenght.

Girls Divisions all play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams. Bantam Girls will play Tuesday or Thursday , possibly Friday , Saturday or Sunday if required.

Playoffs will commence June 21th and finish by the 28th of June they will be a double knock out competition.

Some teams advancing to provincial play league finals may occur during the week before the specific provincial they will be participating in. Provincials are held in July of each year in 2016 provincials will be in tbd from the 8th of July thru to the 10th. The top  teams in A,B and C and Girls participate.

Midget Lacrosse

A,B

Midget Lacrosse will play any night or on weekends.

In the A division a team from Saskatchewan will be participating.

In the B division teams from Westlock and Grande Prairie will be participating.

All Midget games will have start times between 6 pm and 9:00 pm. Games are 1.5 hours in lenght

Girls Divisions all play against all the teams in the league due to smaller number of teams.

Playoffs will commence after June 21th and finish for most teams by the 28th of June they will be a double knock out competition.

Midget A who will be a best of three series with the top Calgary and top Edmonton team squaring off at the Canada Day Tournament in Calgary. The top midget girls team will advance as well to the Canada day tournament. 

The top B team will play on the July 8 thru 10th weekend location to be determined

Junior Lacrosse

Junior Lacrosse falls under the jurisdiction of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Association, In Edmonton and surrounding communities there are two Junior A teams the Miners and Titans.Three Junior B Tier Two teams, the Crude, Warriors and Titans. Several Junior B Tier Two teams, Blues, Warriors, Rock, Wizards,.

Junior Ladies have three teams, The Saints, Drillers and Titans

Senior Lacrosse

Senior Lacrosse falls under the jurisdiction of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League as well.  In Edmonton and surrounding communities there are three Senior B clubs, The Warriors, St. Albert Miners, and  Outlaws.

In Senior C action the area is represented by the Senior C Warriors.

Senior Ladies are represented by the Bandits 

Masters Lacrosse

Master lacrosse for those over 35 is ran by the Edmonton Masters Lacrosse League.

Ladies Masters are available as well.
