Contract Term:
November 15 - July 15, 2026
Hours of Work:
November 15 - March: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
March - July: Full-time, approximately 35-40 hours per week
Evening and weekend work may be required during tournaments, events, or peak operational periods.
Position Overview:
The Administrative Assistant supports the operations of the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council (GELC) through a blend of administrative, scheduling, and event coordination duties. This role is instrumental in the organization and execution of GELC tournaments and jamborees, providing season administration support, and promoting the sport of lacrosse across the Greater Edmonton region.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative assistance throughout the lacrosse season.
- Maintain accurate records, documents, and correspondence.
- Support communication between clubs, volunteers, officials, and the GELC Board.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and information packages as required.
Event Coordination
- Plan, organize, and support GELC events, including Opening Weekend, tournaments, and jamborees.
- Assist in planning and executing promotional and community engagement events.
- Develop and manage event schedules in collaboration with clubs and facility partners.
- Work with officials, team managers, and volunteers to ensure efficient event delivery.
- Oversee registration processes, event logistics, and post-event reporting.
Scheduling & Systems Management
- Create and manage league schedules within RAMP or similar platforms.
- Coordinate floor bookings, officials, and event timing adjustments.
- Ensure schedules are accurate, up-to-date, and clearly communicated.
Marketing & Communications
- Assist in promoting GELC programming through social media, newsletters, and digital platforms.
- Assist in creating and publishing marketing materials using Adobe, Canva, or similar tools.
- Support community engagement and enhance awareness of lacrosse in the region.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in Adobe, Google Workspace, RAMP, and Canva (or comparable platforms).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge or experience in lacrosse is considered a strong asset.
Compensation:
Wage to be discussed with shortlisted candidates based on experience and qualifications.
