Lacrosse officials are the heartbeat of our game — the ones who keep the action flowing, the competition fair, and the excitement alive!
Here in Alberta, our officials operate under the Alberta Lacrosse Referee Association (ALRA) — an official Local Governing Body (LGB) recognized by the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA). That means the ALRA President proudly holds a seat on the ALA Board of Directors, ensuring that officials always have a strong voice at the table.
Our ALRA officials come from all walks of life — different backgrounds, ages, and experiences — but they all share one thing: a passion for lacrosse and a commitment to excellence. The ALRA thrives on diversity, teamwork, and professionalism, driven by an Executive and Management team that lives and breathes the sport.
Officials aren’t just part of the game — they’re essential to it. They’re our partners, our allies, and truly, our most mission-critical teammates. The ALA is dedicated to working hand-in-hand with the ALRA to make every official feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed on and off the floor.
